Skype has at the moment problem with illegal sites selling SkypeOut and SkypeOut inofficially. That’s why some accounts got blocked which caused users in rage in the English and interstingly also in the recently launched German forums.

Well, finally, the official statement from the Skype Staff has been posted in the Forums here:

“Hi !

We have experienced several payment incidents due to the use of fraudulent payment methods. All these events are connected with a limited number of unofficial websites reselling SkypeOut Credits. All accounts that were linked to these fraudulent transactions are temporarily restricted.

We are now investigating these accounts and websites and we check every concerned account in order to evaluate its possible participation to this fraud scheme.

We want to stress the fact that these websites are NOT official Skype partners.

We apologize for the inconvenience and ask for your patience. We are working on this matter.”

It has also been translated into Russian which suggests that a lot of users from Russia were affected.

I have got a new record of daily visitors, yesterday: 541!

Normally, I have around 80-120 visitors a day, but yesterday I have got 541 – I wonder why, but I want to Thank all my visitors and readers!.

I don’t know what causes this sudden boost of visitors, but it’s nice to see that my blog gained interest within the large Blogsphere! 🙂

So, Russians reverse Engeneered (not completely yet as I understood) – interesting, is this a new area of IM clones but this time “Skype clones”? 😉

Another thing I learned today – which is not in the Skype Knowledge Base:

In Text Chats you can enter “/help” and then you get a nice list of commands:

“Available commands:
/add
/help
/topic
/me
/history
/find
/fa or /
/leave
/alertson [text to match]
/alertsoff
/call [skypename]”

Definately a thing to check out! 🙂

Sega is asking its customers (i.e. gamers) for opinions. Now I have left my number, but would they even call to abroad? 😉

Time will show – at least new fresh air in the poll community – now they call instead of making pop up windows to appear.

Heh. For a quarter of a second I seriously considered as a new kind of spam that does not get catched by filters. Are we going ahead a new kind of emal spam – polls?

The Thechnorati Newsletter is back:

It’s called “The Buzz Monitor” and will report about whatsoever regarding the Blogosphere.

They start with a few words about how they messed up the unsubscription process!

I seriously hope things will improve once Blogger in Beta is out of beta, because at the moment Technorati is on its wits’ end. They just send you “I don’t know” emails at the moment if you are reporting problems.

Which is weird, since other services work together with the Blogger Team to fix problems, Technorati seems to do nothing.
Examples of good teamwork can be found at the Blogger Buzz.

I have sent emails to David Sifry. A final reply is still pending.

I have added the ability to listen to (recent) blog posts thanks to Talkr which allows that for free.

I will also add a chicklet to my Feedsite. A chicklet is a button which links to the URL which can be used for any Podcast reader so you automatically can listen to my new posts once they are posted in a podcast. 🙂
