As widely known, Real Player refuses to install in Windows Vista X64 and it’s also known that RealNetworks is slow.

As written here, it will be out by July! (Yes, THAT late!).

It’s time again to report about problems I experience in Vista.

One of them is the blocky image zoom issue in Windows Vista, What does this mean? It means, in Windows XP when you zoom images, they get a bit blurry when you zoom to a certain degree but they still look okay, however in Windows Vista they look blocky like stairs!

To my surprise not many people post about it. I found one place doing this in a forum here. Other problems can be found here. The only solution I found yet is to use Internet Explorer 7 to display them for zooming which zooms them the old XP style.

If anybody found a way to get the image zooming correctly in the image preview of Vista, please let me know!

Microsoft released iPod patch for Windows Vista 32/64bit because in past securily disconnecting the iPod resulted mostly into damaged file system on the iPod.

This patch fixes this problem and allows a propper detection and connecting/disconnecting. Download it from here.

My replies on AllExperts.com seems to convince people because interestingly, recently people ask me non-email related stuff in the email category like what I think about their career ideas, advertiesement possibilities, problems with the Firefox browser (a browser I even do not use! =) ).

PC Tools’s Spyware generates spam using Skype, which sounds like a joke is unfortunately true! It’s using Skype’s mood messages.

The interesting thing is how their support sees it. 2 things:

1) They claim it’s no spam, etc.
2) They claim it’s fixed in the latest update but people say it isn’t

Is The PCTools Spyware Doctor soon detected as a threat in SpyBot?! 😉

Just found by accident that there is also a UXTheme Patcher Windows Vista 32/64bit. It is a simple RAR archive file with a manual on how to get it to work. It can be downloaded from here, so now you can use 3rd party skins if you are getting tired for Vista’s AERO! 🙂

Since Microsoft released the Service Pack 2 for Windows XP X64 and 2003 Server, the UXTheme MultiPatcher stopped working.

Now this is a past problem, because version 5.5 is out.

Changelog:

-Added Windows Server 2003 SP2 (x86/x64) and Windows XP SP2 (x64) support
-Changed patching method to actual file to prevent file currupt patching (1MB patcher won’t hurt as it fails to patch, right?)

Surprisingly I had to find out, that my old external 16in1 USB 2 Card Reader’s (a SILVERCREST 16 in 1 Cardreader USB 2.0) software compatible to other readers, i.e. my new one DTK Computer CR-202A.

The old card reader’s software gave the drive icons pictures of the cards you could put into the ports. Seems they are both using the default Windows driver and just add icons to it.

You can see that on the screenshot above! 🙂
