A new ICQ 5 Xtra is out! It’s Instant Match.
The thing works like, that you rate all your love to all your ICQ contacts, they do the same and suddenly you have an instant match! More info about this (works in MSIE): Here! 🙂

After the pain with Gigabyte support, I recenently received an email in which Gigabyte asked for my opinion (i.e. asks me to take part in a customer support satisfaction survey).
I selected that I am pretty statisfied now, because infact all worked perfectly. They replied quickly, detailed and with the useful information I requested! 🙂

Nowadays, many of us own broadband internet, who-hoo! That means xDSL or Cable Internet or you are connected at an educating insitution that is directly connected with their ISP over a phat light-wave cable!
But for me, (as having 4M/Bit cable internet) this is not enough. The problem for Europeans (well, at least in my country) is, that websites in Asia (with exception of Singapore and mostly Malaysia!) load terribly slow over here. They load so slow, that if you try to load a site consisting of many data, it will count down speed to close-to-zero and then simply stop loading!
An example of this dilema, is this site, which loads and loads and once all the nice text and images are loaded, the flash animation itself won’t load!
And homepages located in Africa don’t load faster (with exception of Ghana) so be prepared for a long wait!
I seriously don’t think that just all the servers in China, Taiwan and co are slow, I simply think, our connection to their is just incredible… cheesy!
I hope Internet2 will fix this!

After kind of terror emailing the Blogforum admin, he finally fixed the last errors!
After he fixed it, he sent me the following email:
“Hi Joerg,
I had fix the problem.
Login is working now.”

I have today fixed my displaying problem on click of my Weatherpixie. It didn’t show the detailed data on click as it was meant to be.
I wrote the the Weatherpixie creator but her reply wasn’t helpful at all, she even sounded pretty annoyed.
The problem was a wrong references in the predefined tag code generated on its website.
I have now corrected this error by hand, and try it out, it works now! 🙂

Some visitors of my blog complained that from August till September, there was several times a virus loaded once they visited my blog. (very rarely)
As I figured it out, since it happened to myself once, those viruses were loaded by the Flickr Zeitgeist code I had on my blog.
I want to say sorry to all visitors of my blog for that.
I have reported this to Flickr, but Flickr unfortunately denies even the possibility, even if one would prove it!
The safety of my blog is highest priority for me, so the Flickr Zeitgeist is gone from my blog forever! 😛

Maybe as some of you know, certain ICQ users complain about their ICQ 5 not displaying ICQ Devils eventhough no prg blocks then and Flash 7 or 8 is installed.
I have been noticed by the ICQ Support a few days ago what caused this problem and how to fix it.
This problem is caused if the user profile path (e.g. “C:Documents and SettingsNafcomApplication DataICQLite”) contains a UNICode sign. If this is the case, then the data is saved in the ICQ program folder, not the Application Data folder of ICQ, which causes the inability to display the ICQ Devils.
Renaming the Windows user name won’t fix it, since the path doesn’t change after this was done. The best is to create a new Windows user which contains no UNICode sign (like, better use “Joerg” but not “Jörg”).
