The ICQ Team updated the ICQ homepage a bit, i.e. its layout.

Now there are less main sections and the rest is bundled into sub sections which can be accessed to by a dropdown menu.

Also the function to diplay your groups you have joined in your “My Page” also works now.

I absolutely *love* my recent gadget purchase. the USB – Cup Warmer & 4 Port Hub!

I just missed the stainless steel cups yet which I just received yesterday. It’s absolutely amazing! It really works! 🙂

Unfortunately at the time I bought mine (which is already a couple of months ago) there was only the USB 1.1 model. So mine is the predecessor of exactly this model shown in the picture.

AmperorDirect has written down The History Of USB Phones, it’s definately worth reading! (source: AmperorDirect blog).

My DualPhone also got mentioned!

RTX still supports it. They just recently released an update which fixes mainly issues with Vista and the latest Skype versions.

Definately worth reading the history! 🙂

I have decided to not get the “Thermaltake Soprano”, this Christmas (this is the one I already have, but I wanted it in black this time.

But then I found out I need something cheaper but it’s anyway not in any way less cool: the Enermax Vostok which is about 30 € cheaper and has some nice stuff like a side with AirDuct on it for passive cooling. Also the front USB and audio are not behind a cover but easily accessable from the front. The above picture is from their download area for pics of this product. The Vostok is screwless just like the Soprano but it also has a motherboard tray which the Soprano doesn’t.

The mirror-like front will be interesting 🙂

Ignore also the “Comming Soon!” as this beast is out in the shelves now, man, I am so excited! I will get the black/silver one! Yummi stuff! 🙂

Mano Scherpbier, producer of productiehuis ON sent out an email today telling that they keep their promise on releasing the C64 Orchstra audio CD on November, 12th!

It can pre-ordered now.

Here a copy and paste of his email:

“Dear c64 lovers!

The quest is almost done, today we are assembling the final parts of the cd RUN 10. The launch date is the 12th of November so we are almost there!

25 years after Commodore introduced the C64 computer, productiehuis ON asked Rob Hubbard to make orchestral arrangements of the music written by him and Jeroen Tel for some of the most popular C64 games. Check out this piece of art that the music of “C64 orchestra – Run 10” in combination with this unique packaging and a second disc with the original tunes and special features represents!

CD 1 The orchestral versions of:
Delta, Commando, Monty on the Run, One Man And His Droid and International Karate, Cybernoid II, Hawkeye, Myth and Supremacy

CD 2 The original versions of:
Delta, Commando, Monty on the Run, One Man And His Droid and International Karate, Cybernoid II, Hawkeye, Myth, Supremacy and Commando High Score.
+ Monty ON The Run (Remix by Deltabeats)

You can order it now direct at http://www.oninternet.nl/project.asp?projectId=40 using pay pall.

And we will send you the cd!

kind regards

the c64orchestra team”

According to him, if you order it now, they will send it out by the end of the week towards you.

As far as I remember, the CD is a limited offer and only available in limited amount.

You are getting a lot for 35 € I think, noticing it seems to be 2 CDs and a wonderful Commodore like jewel case!

The sadly famous newsletter language problem of Skype is also happening to MySpace now, so they are doing exactly the same mistakes!

I have selected the language “English” in my MySpace settings, however I received the new MySpace Newsletter in German instead of English!

Some people even reported that they received it eventhough they are no members.

Let’s hope MySpace will do something about both soon!

I would have rather want to read the English one instead of some German translation.
Also as you can see on above link they did a newsletter in September 2007, however I never received one. Here is all the newsletters I received:

Only 7 I have ever received since joining MySpace!

Roughly a year ago, when many blog related exchanges died, something new appeared and rumbled the house: BlogDumps. Now, they are back with yet another blog related project; Blogdumps Video! The duo Trina and Paul not only offer books, coffee, blog link exchanges but also video uploading now!

Again it’s the Pisstakers explaining to us why BlogDumps Video is better than YouTube and Revver.

In an email to the duo I wrote: “Man, I really hope you won’t
end up like YouTube who are too busy to troubleshoot their user’s accounts and
reply to emails”

Good luck to them and thanks for all the support of the blogsphere with great enthuasm and care.

My blog no longer uses Technorati for the categorization of my blog posts.

I have replaced the search engine from Technorati’s search (which got messed up and they probably would rather die than fixing it) with the way better working Blogger search engine. Apart from the “ICQ” categories, the search results are displayed and compiled in the same window on the fly. (Pretty much like using labels).

A quick test of all categories turned out that they display fine – if you notice any disturbances or something you don’t like, please let me know.

Technorati has something in common with Orkut: blind like a mole, and speedy like a snail. A good portion of emails are ignored and never replied to or they simply cannot help you. In rare cases, when they are good mooded or have a very exceptional bright day, they might get back to you and actually try and successfuly help you (whoo-hoo!). Anyway, I am done with Technorati forever and ever.

Swicki is a lot nicer as Ed – the Pisstaker already found out. okay, granted, once in a while an email gets slipped through too but 99% of them are replied to nicely and helpful and things got worked out (however, Opera still troubles them, please fix soon!). Most of my emails got reply by Trini from Swicki, a thanks to Trini from this place to her! 🙂

Granted, Technorati and Orkut got a support forum to be able to manage the huge amount of emails. Did any of them succeeed? No they didn’t!.
