There seem to be more and more regions on the planet that try or successfully block Skype either totally or permanently.

There has been problems and a big scream in teh Skype forums about ISPs trying to block Skype and even that voIP is illegal in Brazil.

Then there are law issues and some parts blocked in China from the use of SkypeOut.

And the recent scream is about the United Arabic Emirates.

Seems Skype is becoming a danger for PSNT providers and voIP providers (usually from your cable TV or ISP).

I think it’s a shame that they cut your internet instead of providing a service that is similar priced and reliable!

By the way: The promotion does not seem to appear on a random basis, but diplaying for a few days at an undefined time till it gets exchanged by another one a few days after.

There are blog directories for all countries and languages, but I never found one for Germany. Now I have found one: It’s the B|Logs directory!

(Taken from “Click here for the English version of the text above”):

“This directory offers an overview of weblogs maintained by German authors – nothing less, nothing more. The majority of the blogs are kept in German but there are some blogs which are mainly written in English.“

I searched 1 1/2 years for such a directory! :-O

No more popups!

Yep, they are gone! Some visitors of my blog using MSIE or Firefox complained about popups that appeared when reading my blog! (But I never saw them in Opera =) ).

I have finally found out why they appeard, the link exchange service Link2Blogs had created them! So, I will miss the 147 visitors I received through their service NOT! I prefer that my visitors have an undisturbed visit of my blog!

Sorry that it took that long!

Been using Google Analytics for 2 1/2 days now on my blog! So let’s see how good it works!

Here, everybody can see that most of my visitors came from Germany and the main rest from USA. You can even see from which city. I framed the visit from the Skype Team located in Talinn, Estonia!

Also seen can be the sources people came from. Next to the unknown which have the most, Google follows by sources inside my blog. Then visitory coming from the beta blogs and the tiny 5.13% came from Technorati!

On the next pocture you can see the Source Conversion (taken from Google themselves:

“Which referral sources drive the highest quality traffic? This report compares referral sources with respect to number of visits, pageviews per visit, conversion rates, and average visit value.“

On this screenshot we see the language set. Most set to English, followed by German, Russian and Slovakian!

The last one for this time is the connection speed.
As you can see, the dialup connections are dying out! broadband internet wins this battle! 🙂

Here is, the crazy frog from Jamba (yes, “Jamba”, eventhough the international pages call it “Jamster”, it came from Germany, called “Jamba”). This Crazy Frog “dingding” the Axel F. theme even has been on the UK charts for weeks!

Notice: won’t work in Opera since it’s broken on the source – wasted blog!

But watch it, it’s nice 🙂
