Hooray! I have found the solution for those trackbacks, where th Trackback Ping System of HaloScan fails to work; The Wizbang Standalone Trackback Pinger works always! 😛

Well, one of those things I thought about before starting blogging was, wether I should keep my blog secret.
As you might have seen on the links on the left and where I am listed, etc, you might have figured out, that I decided not to keep it secret.
However, I didn’t reveal all things about me on first spot.
also this blog is more about general stuff and nothig which is connected to my private life. (If I have any, LOL!).
But for those who want to keep their blog secret as e.g. your magical secret diary, here is a nice post describing a “howto”.

Slowly I begin to wonder, wether the trackback systems of some blog systems are really of any worth. Infact I have done 2 tries to ping one, and both times, I got an access denied error.
Means it only works among the same blogger/trackback system.
Now, _that sucks_!

Yup, interesting to see, that even others miss the internet if not being on it for a week.

Well, if you want to know, what magazine editors do if the organizer (me) is not on ICQ for a while, then here
Weekend turned out with a finger cut (ouch, Andrew!) and ends with a blog entry being totally fascinated about an event meeting! So, I look forward to his report 😀
Well, while browsing through all kinds of blogs, I have seen “Trackback” often and wondered what it is.
The best explaination about what it is (at least for me the best one), I found here.
Now the problem is, that blogger.com does not support trackbacks yet and the only free trackback system I could find was HaloScan.
Problem for me: It is linked together with their comment system.
I have installed both hoping that it would take over existing comments from blogger but it did not. Also the amount of comments is limited, for unlimmited amount of comments, you need to be a premium (paid) member.
So I wanted to stick with the blogger comment system but also wanted Haloscan’s Trackback system.
I have found in their forum a post here on how to use the trackback system in blogger only.
Unfortunately, after I have performed the changes, the font displaying in Opera changed from Verdana to Times New Roman.
I have experimented with it quite a bit and figured out a way, which doesn’t cause to mess up the blog layout, and now it works in any browser! 🙂
So if you want to trackback to my blog’s articles, now you can 😀 ! 🙂
