IMAP for Gmail petition

In a community in Orkut I have found some interesting site!; IMAP for Gmail petition.
Let me blockquote them to figure out what it is about!:

Q-Why this petition?

Google has recently provided POP3 access to Gmail.

While POP3 is fine, many would prefer IMAP support.

We are hopeful that Google will provide IMAP as a free or paid service.

Q-Why is IMAP better than POP3 for Gmail?

Gmail offers 2+GB of space. In 2 GB you can store 120,000 – 500,000 emails.

IMAP maintains the folders created in your webmail account while POP3 does not.
There are no folders in gmail, instead there are “labels” but they serve
the same purpose*.

Can folders and labels be implemented in a IMAP mail system?
Fastmail has done just that.

If you use IMAP currently, you will appreciate IMAP’s benefits with gmail.

So, go ahead and sign the petition.

However it’s not totally impossible as somebody made it possible! 🙂 You can read about this here!

PC Upgrade – The 1st

After 2 1/2 years I am this year again able to upgrade my PC.

Since I am a Management Assistant in Informatics (PC repair, building, helpdesk, etc), I put together PCs myself since year 2001. 🙂

this is why I wrote support emails to MSI, because I needed a BIOS update.

So following the link, you will see what board.

As case, I thought of this one. It’s pretty pretty, don’t you think? =)

Also it seems to be _very hard_ to find PCIe compatible power supplies. Well, mine isn’t. 🙁 Plus it’s very hard to find in this country adapters for PCIe! 🙁

So finally I found some trader that has them 🙂

Furthermore Silicon Image promised to deliver me a Windows XP 64bit driver for their external controller. that is good, because yet I didn’t buy this OS anyway. 🙂 but soon will!

I will keep you updated!

Blogger – new feature: Word Verification

Blogger.com has got a real useful new feature! – : Word Verification!

Since I receive now and then spam entries in my comments, I have decided to switch it on!

It displays a bitmap from which you have to read a word and enter this in a field! 🙂

This is also in the interest of the readership, so no longer weird comments that keep displaying until I find and delete them!

Election Day soon over here!

in September are Parliament’s lower house elections, and there is no party which isn’t crap and bad to elect. So I am seriously thinking about doing no elections this year. I am not sure, entirely not!

Oh by the way there has beeen an interesting post regaring politics, here 🙂

I was writing earlier about the Slowness of MSI Germany.

I have meanwhile received a reply from MSI USA, and thought this might interest:

I ever heard a bug if customer didn’t set Keyboard/Mouse USB Legacy
support to enable or disable at same time.

System will need around 5 mins to enter OS.

When you set these two items to enable or disable at same time and it
solve.

It is Nvidia chipset limitation.

Therefore I will recommend that you should ask customer trying new BIOS
and inform them to set these two items as same setting to avoid similar
problem.

Blogger for Word out!

Yep, there is a new add-on for Word! <a href=http://buzz.blogger.com/bloggerforword.html target=”_blank”>Blogger for Word</a>! It allows you to write your blogger posts directly out of Word, without the need of opening a web browser and logging into blogger.com!

Unfortunately yet images are not supported but it’s still a quite fresh release anyway (So let’s hope they improve that soon! ( ).
