Technorati index problem

See my full range of Technorati experience. Sometimes it happens that the Technorati service is down and sometimes they write it, sometimes they don’t.

At least this time the reply came faster:

“Hello Joerg,

I’ve taken a look at the incorrect permalink to your July post. Unfortunately, there was a very brief outage during the time of
your post that associated incorrect links to the indexed posts (it occurred with other blogs as well). All has been fixed since then
and newer posts should be indexed successfully. Unfortunately however, the posts indexed incorrectly are not immediately
correctable. One thing that can be done for the post to be indexed correctly would be to republish the post with a newer creation
date. Our system will recognize it as a new post and index it successfully.

Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience. Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any other questions. Thank you for
using Technorati!

Guess I will keep you updated! Holy crap, I really have bad luck lately with Technorati and bugs that always seem to hit me! 🙁

Anyway, Technorati is great, I just wish they would be more announcing of their problems and replying to emails faster. And yet, the best support has still Blogger and del.icio.us! 🙂

Google Earth Newsletter in my inbox!


As you can see, I have received today for the first time the Google Earth newsletter. Eventhough the first issue was in July 2006 it never arrived to me (and not in my spam filter, either!), I wonder why!

(So sorry for being one month too late with this). Did this happen to you, too? Let me know, comment to this post – I want to know!

Skype Video issues and how to resolve them

Since it’s a famous question: What do I do if Skype Video does not work?

Here the answer:

0) If you generally have a problem with Skype, look first at the skype forums: http://forum.skype.com

1) Forum: There is a list of supported webcams http://forum.skype.com/index.php?showtopic=41162.

2) Forum: There is a list of issues and how to resolve the problems:

reasons for failing video: a) old DirectX or b) Nvidia graphics card which is not supported.

So first update install latest DirectX. If it still does not help, you can read there which NVidia graphics cards are known to not work.

The Skype Team has released the 2.6 previews as you know, the 2.6 previews fixes the problem b) with the Nvidia cards since such are now supported, but notice that previews are with bugs:

Updated to Blogger in Beta service!

I was today allowed to switch to Blogger in Beta!
(Big thanks to the Blogger Support for allowing me to switch my account to Blogger in Beta!).

A list of all new feautes can be found here. Among the new features is also labeling which means you no longer have to rely on categories hacks or crappy services like Labelr! 🙂

I have done a slideshow with screenshots of the new Blogger in Beta.

The Blogger Team themselves made a tour, also an entry in their Blogger Buzz blog can be read.

Unfortunately classical template editing is not available as of yet, that’s why I was unable to keep my template switched to the new customizedable version!

Anyway, great work, cannot wait till you re-enabled classical template editing so I can completely switch my blog! =)
