There are many good reasons to stop using the old, obsolete discontinued ICQ2003b anymore.
Now you have got a new reason, because according to this, there has been found a new previously unknown vulnerability recently which allows to crash somebody’s else and potential dangerous code could be intrude into the victim’s PC.
The reaply from the ICQ Team and/or AIM regarding this:
“AOL has recently been made aware of a vulnerability in the ICQ 2003b
client build #3916. Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may
allow an attacker to remotely execute commands.AOL and ICQ recommend that users upgrade to the latest version of the
ICQ client: ICQ 5.1″
(taken from the above linked source)
Of course that was to be espected since ICQ2003b is no longer developed, as people can also read in the Expert Chat.

Just found out that DHL Germany has a free MP3 to download, the “Packstation Song. If it wasn’t a song about DHL’s Packstation, you could even call it cool!
Offering free MP3 is the trend of 2006 anyway!
Intertesting: A lot of stoties about vanished parcels and other things about the Packsation if you search in Technorati for DHL and Packstation!

After free SkypeOut calls to landline/mobile to phones in USA/Canada, Skype offers the same now for France (except mobile)!

Since many of my blog visitors search about ICQ 6, here is what I know about ICQ 6 and the information sources:
There are some few information regarding ICQ 6. One is that it will probably have history search again. Other is that it will have larger ICQ Devils. And maybe floating user feature will be back in future.

New Xtraz will probably be “Star Hockey” and “Reversi” (see Xtraz Information Center)!
ICQ 6 will not run on Windows 98 or 98 SE! (See this blog entry)!
Also, ICQ 6 will probably not go to N/A when a full screen game is running (as ICQ Team wrote in the Expert Board a while ago).
The ICQ Team is also working on making ICQ 6 not disturbing other sound sources (as written by Udo – The ICQ Team in the ICQ Focus Group here)!

I spoke to the Product Manager of RTX by phone today, regarding some remaining issues in the DualPhone.:
1) Thanks to my letter they started to investigate about the CallerID problem and found out that there are 2 different Caller ID systems in New Zealand and they only were aware of 1 of them. They found a partner that can give them details about the competitor Caller ID system and it will be fixed.
2) The echo problem with the phone in Germany will also be tracked down and fixed.
3) The phone will receive an update to ensure full Windows Vista compatibility.
They weren’t aware of either problem, yet. When the firmware/suite update will be released they cannot tell but the DualPhone will be kept supported and updated as long as rquired.
I decided to post it here, too, incase one or another is interested in it! 🙂
